Is it worth updating your devices?
Apple’s next big iPhone update is just around the corner, with iOS 27 expected to arrive in Australia on Tuesday, 15 September.
And one of the biggest changes is something many of us have been waiting a long time for: a much smarter Siri.
Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI promise better voice recognition, more natural conversations, an understanding of what’s on your screen, and even the ability to find information buried in your messages, emails and photos.
But there’s a catch.
Not every iPhone that can run iOS 27 can use Apple Intelligence.
In fact, some relatively recent iPhones miss out completely.
So, if you’re considering buying or upgrading your iPhone, it’s worth knowing which models support Apple Intelligence before you spend your money.
I’ve put together a guide covering:
- Which iPhones will run iOS 27
- Which iPhones actually support Apple Intelligence
- What’s changing with Siri
- Whether an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 is still a good choice
- Whether you really need an iPhone 17
- When Australians can expect the new features
If Apple Intelligence is important to you, or you’re thinking about buying a new iPhone, have a read before deciding which model to buy.
